I would suggest trying a clean install of Windows and Java 32bit, to test and see if you have the same crashing issues, and possibly try it on different hardware if you have it available (another 圆4 system of different hardware type (mobo, ram, etc).Īlthough Windows 7 / Vista 64 include both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Internet Explorer, version 8 in the case of Windows 7, many prefer more secure products. You won't find a 64-bit version of Firefox yet either, however, the 32bit one works perfectly on Win7 圆4 as well, though I am also a proponent of creating a 64bit one as well (though I hear Firefox v4.x is targeting 圆4 versions).Īnyways, just want to clear up that the 32bit one works perfectly fine, if its crashing, its probably not related to its 32bit vs 64bit-ness. Yes, it would be great to have a 64-bit version of OpenOffice, but it is not by any means a requirement when the 32bit one works perfectly on Win7 圆4, and using the 32bit java. You can have bothJava 32bit, and Java 圆4 installed on your system simultaneously, and OpenOffice will choose the 32bit one for its needs. I've included a screenshot of my system using Win7 圆4, OO 3.2.1 32bit, Java 32bit & Java 圆4. Windows 7 圆4 works perfectly fine with Openoffice 32bit.
